Airports of Montenegro is a public enterprise established by the Government of the Republic of Montenegro in 1999. After years of negotiations with previous owner - Serbian airline JAT - Podgorica and Tivat airports were finally taken over on April 23 2003 by a new owner the Government of the Republic of Montenegro.

Airports of Montenegro is a regular member of Airport Council International (ACI). Presence at various international industry conferences and events at all times helped Airports of Montenegro creating a recognized name and becoming attractive to numerous airlines for business cooperation.
