Activity description
The Belgrade office, led by Gordana Delić, serves as the headquarters for the Balkan Trust for Democracy. The Balkan Trust operates with a small, experienced staff that actively seeks out and incorporates expertise from a wide variety of partners to ensure that the BTD’s programs are effective, responsive to local needs, and complementary to other initiatives supported by the international community. GMF, USAID, and the Mott Foundation gave the initial $25 million endowment for the Balkan Trust, the first ten-year mandate of which came to an end in May 2013. BTD’s grantmaking activities now focus primarily on six countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.

The Belgrade office also works with other GMF offices on programs such as the Marshall Memorial Fellowship.
