An average person spends around three hours in front of a TV screen, says Eurodata TV Worldwide. The biggest TV “addicts” are Americans and Canadians, who spend an average of four hours and three minutes a day in front of their screens, says the company, which has collected data from 95 countries of the world.

Data collected in 2017 put Europeans in the second spot (three hours and 49 minutes), ahead of Russia and Brazil.

– Global TV viewing time has remained steady, despite the increasing availability of video content online – Frederic Vaulpre, Eurodata vice-president, said.

He points out that they are seeing a slight dip in North America and Asia, but that South America continued to grow and that Europe remained at a historically high level.

Citizens of Asian countries spend less time in front of the TV compared to other big TV markets – two hours and 25 minutes. In China, they spend two hours and 12 minutes watching TV each day on average.
