The draft Spatial plan of the Municipality of Sombor, once again, raised the question of the need for design of Traffic-Transportation Study for the territory of the municipalities from West Bačka region and Municipality of Vrbas. On the initiative of Snežana Milešević, the main architect of Municipality of Sombor, with the support from Mayor Dr Jovan Slavković, the activities related to elaboration of the Feasibility Study and the priority projects, which will enable application for the means required for realization, have commenced.
The center for development programmes of Municipality of Sombor, of which coordinator is main architect Snežana Milešević, used to submit the project for the open competition announced by the Ministry of Finance of the Government of REpublic of Serbia for the National Investment Plan for period 2006-2011, which should enable better standard in all key aspects of life.

The step further represents the working meeting held on June 30, 2006, in the County building, in the premises of CDP. The relevant representatives of five municipalities presented current traffic-transportation needs of this region with the emphasis on the traffic joining of neighboring countries, as well as joining of southeast and central Europe.
