After in late April
the contract for completion of work on the lot of Sarajevo bypass was signed by
representatives of the JV Strabag and HP Investing in the amount of KM
33.136.431,83 it is planned to continue work within the stipulated time.
Previous work has
been interrupted because the then contractor SCT went bankrupt, so the new contract
provides to conduct a drawdown of the so far executed works but also a new
survey of work.
"After extensive negotiations and selections in
accordance with established principles of international financial institutions,
we gave our confidence to the consortium which, according to prescribed
criteria, is capable to complete the works in high quality, technically and
financially, in due course," said Director of
PE Ceste of FBiH Filip Vujeva.
Obtaining consents
It is very
important as it prevents deterioration of the so far built facilities on this
part of Sarajevo bypass. New tender for completing the remaining works on Lot 1
of the Sarajevo bypass, with consent of creditors, i.e. international financial
institutions (EBRD, EIB and OPEC FOISD), was announced on 4 October 2011 and
closed on 18 November last year. The tender was announced by the criteria of lenders,
which have been accepted by the State and also the Federal Government. As we
learned, until the expiry of the deadline provided by law, five bids were
received from the following companies: BH Consortium - GP Put Sarajevo, Euroasfalt
Sarajevo and GP ŽGP Sarajevo, Alpine-Bau, JV Cesta Varaždin, Integral
Engineering and Granite Skopje, Osijek Koteks and JV Strabag and HP Investing.
Start of works is scheduled after introduction of contractors to the works, on
28 May 2012.
The works are
divided into three lots. Works on the first lot of the Sarajevo bypass relate
to section Jošanica - Butila. On lot 2 works are carried out according to the provided
dynamics which is determined by expropriation. Works on lot 2, with the consent
of the Government of the Federation of BiH, were divided into two parts in
order to accelerate expropriation and obtaining the necessary approvals for
urban approval and building permits for LOT 2 as follows: LOT 2A Butila -
Briješće in the length of 3.78 kilometers, connecting road / urban motorway (2x2
lanes with stop band), and LOT 2B Briješće – Stup in the length of 0.50 kilometers,
adding two more lanes – reconstruction of XII transverse.
Subcontractors
Completion of works
on the lot 2 of the Sarajevo bypass is expected by mid next year. According to
the decision of the Government of the Federation BiH, PE Autoceste FBiH (PE
Highways FBiH) is responsible for lot 3. Given the fact that the contract on
completion of works has already been signed, the contract for subcontractors,
Asfaltgradnja, Sarajevo Roads and Hidrogradnja automatically enters into force
upon signing the contract with JV Strabag and HP Investing because they are the
ones to sign the subcontracts. Completion of works on the first lot of Sarajevo
bypass is expected in five months.
