Talgo
trains have not yet been introduced in traffic due to usually lengthy technical
and administrative procedures necessary to pass, the competent authorities of
the countries through which the trains will pass will issue permits for the
train’s traffic on their tracks, Senka Račić from the Information Service of
the Federation of FBiH Railways confirmed for ekapija.ba.
"The
authorities in Croatia issued a permit for operation of Talgo trains on tracks
of the Croatian railways. In Serbia and Hungary final activities related to the
final issuance of these permits are being carried out. On the lines of the
Railways of Serbia the first test drive is expected in the near future, which
means that the procedures for issuing permits in this country are in the final
stage. Also, the procedure in Hungary are in their final stage and a call from their
competent authorities for taking a test drive is expected," said Senka
Račić, pointing out that according to earlier announcement it was planned to
introduce the Talgo trains in traffic in the first half of this year.
Apropos,
these high quality trains are designed to improve service quality of Railways FBiH
in international passenger traffic through Croatia, Serbia and Hungary.
"For the
Sarajevo-Zagreb route two night sets are planned, for the Sarajevo-Belgrade
route two day sets, the same for the Sarajevo – Budapest route. Railways FBiH have
planned to introduce a night train from Sarajevo to Belgrade, with two night
sets, which is being negotiated with other railway companies. The ninth (day) et
is planned as a replacement," explains Račić.
Talgo
trains offer a special pleasure in travel. They are equipped with extremely
