The Assembly of U.S. Steel, appointed by the decision of the Serbian government, has changed the name of that steelworks into Zelezara Smederevo, it was announced by the Office of Smederevo Mayor Predrag Umicevic.
Members of the Assembly are now Umicevic, Chairman of the Town Assembly Brance Stojanovic, representatives of the Ministry of Finance Stefan Lazarevic and Tijana Cvetkovic, and the Ministry of Economy's representative Zoran Tomic.
The government made that decision Friday (3 February 2012).
Predrag Umicevic was first named the Chairman of the Assembly of U.S. Steel Serbia by the government, and than the name of the steelworks was changed.
Previous executive directors and the CEO of U.S. Steel were relieved from duty, and Vukoica Scekic has been appointed as the new acting director.
