Gazprom
Neft, a subsidiary of the world's largest gas producer the Russian Gazprom,
wants to buy OMV’s companies in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, which Austria's
OMV as part of rationalization, seeks to sell, said Bloomberg, Business.hr
reports.
Deputy
Executive Director of Gazprom Neft Vadim Yakovlev confirmed the interest explaining
that they are interested in projects if they provide added value and that
Gazprom has the financial capacity to acquire.
Thus,
Gazprom would then fight for OMV's 63 stations in Croatia and 28 in Bosnia-Herzegovina
with another Russian state company Zarubezhneft, which has already presented
and offer for OMV’s property in Croatia and BiH.
Gazprom
Neft already controls the largest Serbian oil company NIS so the expansion to
Croatia and BiH seem like a logical step in development in the region.
