The company Panasonic will continue to operate in Svilajnac, which was confirmed in recent talks between officials of the company and the municipality, it was announced by the municipality of Svilajnac.

On Wednesday, Svilajnac Mayor Gorica Dimcic-Tasic denied Svilajnac Deputy Mayor Predrag Milanovic's allegations that Panasonic was going to give up the investment in that municipality because it was unsatisfied with the distribution of investment incentives in Serbia.

- The municipality of Svilajnac received a letter from Panasonic yesterday (December 27), in which the company expresses a strong protest against Predrag Milanovic's media announcements - reads a statement issued by Gorica Dimcic-Tasic.

- Nobody is allowed to take advantage of investors for the purpose of daily politics, and such statements are definitely not encouraging the arrival of new investors in Serbia. My door and the door of Svilajnac are open to Panasonic, and I am very satisfied with the fact that one such system operates in Svilajnac. I wish our cooperation in 2012 to be even more successful than it was this year, and nothing can shake my belief that the future of Panasonic and the future of Svilajnac are inextricably linked – Gorica Dimcic-Tasic stressed in her statement.
