Pancevo-based MadNet is among the top 50 quickest-growing technology companies in central Europe for three years in a row. In order to keep this position, aside from rendering certain additional services to their users, the company's management also plans to expand the territory covered by MadNet network in the following period, as well as to take active part in the consolidation of the Serbian market through acquisitions of small Internet providers, MadNet CEO Mirko Mirkovic announces for eKapija.
As he says, their recipe for success is good planning and high quality of services rendered to users.
- MadNet was formed in 2001, and our core business is the provision of services of Internet access, for the needs of which we use our own wireless data transfer infrastructure. We are the first Internet provider to obtain ISO 9001 quality certificate, which is fully applied to our operations. In addition to Internet access, MadNet also offers the market various other solutions: linking of a company's remote locations, hosting and design of websites, registration of domains, storing or renting of servers in a modern data center with a reliable Internet link of high capacity, Internet marketing, and almost all other services related to Internet and software engineering – says Mirkovic.
He underlines that the most significant decision they've made is to utilize exclusively their own infrastructure to provide services to their users.
- That has enabled us to generate higher profits and reduce the negative influence of monopoly in telecommunications, of which effects have been causing a lot of damage over the last few years and can still be felt.
One of important moments in the company's operations was a decision to offer a high quality of services to end-users (physical person) after providing services exclusively to juristic persons for three years, which made it possible for them to significantly expand the market.
- Today MadNet owns one of the largest, most modern and most stable networks enabling wireless Internet access in Serbia, and it renders services to users across the country in association with its partner companies.
Aside from continuous development of infrastructure and constant improvement of transport capacity, MadNet also works on the development of additional services that will be offered to users along with the basic service of Internet access and are planned to be launched upon full liberalization of the market in early 2012.
- In the recent period, we can take pride in providing successful solutions by connecting several building sites of Austria's Alpine. Also, we participate in the implementation of the network data transfer project for the needs of the Republic Health Insurance Institute and the public utility company Vodovod i Kanalizacija. This is only a small segment in our rich list of references.
When asked to comment on the current situation in the IT market in Serbia, Mirko Mirkovic said the following:
- Very bad. Telekom Srbija still holds a monopoly on most services. Despite very negative trends, MadNet has managed to achieve an above-average growth in both 2010 and 2011, and certain indicators show that 2012 will also be a very successful year for our company.
