If the City issues a permit, Holland's Vital Estates will build a rotating 80-floor skyscraper in New Belgrade. Presentation of this unique project in Europe was held yesterday at the Business Club of the borough of New Belgrade. On that occasion, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the borough of New Belgrade and the company Vital Estates.

According to the project, each floor in the future building would span about 1,200 square meters, and it would utilize wind and solar energy to rotate around its axis. The plan is that each floor in this building rotates around the central pillar. In that way, the building's look and shape would be constantly changing. Such facility would be suitable for a hotel, office or residential space.

According to the words of Zoran Lukic, representative of the company Vital Estates, a rotating tower exists nowhere in Europe and, if built, this unique and exceptional building will become a new symbol of Serbia and Belgrade.

- In case the City of Belgrade and the borough of New Belgrade express interest in the construction of such building, which would be completely financed by Vital Estates, the world-acknowledged architect David Fisher, creator of the rotating tower, will come to Belgrade to present the model of construction and the way in which this tower functions in details - said Lukic.

By the way, the cutting-edge construction concrete that Vital Estates plans to build in the tower in the borough of New Belgrade is six times lighter than standard concrete that is now in use in the construction of buildings. This material allows for full energy independence from the central city heating system because the space built of this material is cooled and heated in an innovative way, enabling up to 70% reduced energy consumption. Vital Estates, headquartered in Amsterdam, is an integral part of the Swiss investment fund Vital Source SA, Paradiso, and it is renowned worldwide in the field of innovative construction.

Brazil

Zoran Lukic said that a rotating 220-floor tower was currently under construction in Brazil. This highest building on the American continent should be opened shortly before the start of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
