Divna
Aničić, one of the few women in our country that fought to sit in the Mayor's
chair. With hard work, dedication, and votes of citizens of municipality Mrkonjić
Grad Aničić proved that women in BiH society can be equal to men, and sometimes
even perform better.
She
was born on 27th October 1970 in Mrkonjić Grad where she finished elementary school
and high school. She graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in
Belgrade. From 1997 to 2004 Aničić was employed by the Electric Power Industry
of Republic of Srpska and in the previous Municipal Assembly from 2004 to 2008
she acted as the President of the Municipal Assembly Mrkonjić Grad.
The
Mayor has plenty of challenges before her, especially when it comes to realization
of numerous infrastructure projects, which are also preconditions for new jobs.
Aničić
is always optimistic, even when the media is concerned, so the frequent
questions from journalists she answers by saying that she tries to fulfill all
the obligations with quality. During her mandate she will invest in new jobs,
support employers who employ citizens and thereby regularly pay taxes.
