Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Macedonia, titled the Summit100 Business
Leaders of Southeast Europe – A New Deal for a New Age, at Izvor Hotel in Arandjelovac, on October 6 and 7.The Summitt100 is organized with the aim of having business leaders propose specific solutions and assume their share of responsibility for strengthening competition of national economies of the countries and the overall competitiveness potential of SEE, through a constructive dialogue and final documents.
President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Boris Tadic, has confirmed his attendance, and the arrival of the highest
political officials of Croatia and Slovenia is expected. The Summit
organizer is the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM), in cooperation with the Croatian Association of Employers (HUP) and the Association of Managers of Slovenia (MAS).
“This is a serious story, where keywords are responsibility, common
interest, regional vision. Our aim is to stimulate and create a platform
for connecting business leaders, successful people with a proven track
record in their respective industries, individuals who look beyond
border crossings and deeper into the future. Our idea is not to open new
chapters of politics or deal with bureaucratic and administrative
barriers. Selected participants of the Summit100 will have a huge
responsibility to seriously consider and provide constructive proposals and solutions in
order to open opportunities and use a vast potential for increasing the
competitiveness of this market with 22 million people under the
circumstances of the global economic crisis and imbalanced dynamics of
the EU association. With this event, we wish to create conditions for
establishing trust and constructive dialogue with the highest political officials in the region,
with the aim of supporting joint efforts in creating a unique,
competitive and prosperous market and a better life for all citizens of
the region,” underlines Mrs Maja Piscevic, director of the Summit100 and
CEO and chairwoman of the BoD in the SAM.
The Summit100 will gather 100 business leaders of the region, highest
political officials and special guests from international institutions
(European Commission, UN, World Bank, IMF, EBRD, EIB, IFC, leading
European banks present in the region, such as Intesa SanPaolo,
UniCredit, Raiffeisen, NLB), and the media. A working part of the Summit
will include panel discussion, where a dialogue on the following subjects for this year’s Summit100 will be initiated: energy and energy efficiency, infrastructure and logistics, and joint appearance in third markets. President Boris Tadic and the highest political officials of Croatia and Slovenia will participate in the central panel discussion.
The aim of the Summit100 is to initiate the establishment of a
network of business leaders willing to assume responsibility within
their capacities for increasing the competitiveness of the whole region.
Their commitment to these objectives will be formalized through
documents of the Summit100, which will serve as maps for the
continuation of active engagement of the Summit100 participants in the
implementation and evaluation of results between two annual summits, reads a release published on the official website of SAM.
