As of this weekend, Silver Lake will have another tourist attraction. Namely, the company Silver Lake Investment will open an aqua park with numerous attractions for children and adults.
This aqua park spans a total of 2,500 square meters, 780 of which are under water. This complex, composed of the total of four swimming pools, is situated in the vicinity of the lake, promenade and the existing catering facilities. It will be open during the summer season to all visitors from this part of Serbia, and not only to the hotel guests.
- The aqua park includes water slides, swimming pools with waves and other water "attractions". Water in all pools will be heated by means of solar panels – Milan Slavinski, communications and marketing director of the company investor, told eKapija.
As he explained, Silver Lake Investment is doing everything it can to preserve the natural complex on the lake, which is why they use renewable energy sources and try to consume as little electricity as possible. Therefore, water in the aqua park will be heated by means of solar panels, while heating pumps will be used to heat and cool the hotel.

The aqua park is only part of Silver Lake Resort. The entire complex occupies as much as 350 hectares of land (30 hectares of forests), as well as 1.5
km of the Danube river bank and 600 meters of the lake coast. The company Silver Lake Investment has so far finished the construction and regulation of a marina, tennis courts, the headquarters of NCA holding, the existing restaurants and coffee shops, water supply and sewerage systems, promenades, prefabricated houses, fishing houses, canopies for the restaurant and the beach, two parking lots, a substation, an embankment, and optical network.
All that belongs to the first phase of construction. As early as around August 15th, Danubia Park hotel will open its doors. As we had the chance to see yesterday, the works are in the final phase.
The gross surface of this garni hotel is 5,350 square meters. It will include a total of 135 beds in 53 rooms and 8 suites. This four-start hotel is built by the project of Belgrade-based D-Design, while the main contractor is Tehnogradnja from Krusevac.
In the central part of the hotel, directly beneath the "cupola", there is a "presidential suite". As they say, they wanted to call it "royal" but gave up because "we are not a monarchy".

The hotel also comprises a multifunctional congress hall with 190 seats, which can be partitioned into three sections if needed. A fireplace, pool tables and a playroom are planned to be situated in the hotel basement.
A fitness-wellness-spa center will be connected with the hotel by a hot link. This center, of which opening is expected in September, will span 800 square meters.
Since they have realized that after all these contents are built, including a new restaurant with the view of the aqua park and the lake, there will still be some empty space, they have decided to build an indoor swimming pool in the center of the complex.
As people at Silver Lake Resort explained for eKapija, all works on the indoor swimming pool and a suite complex are planned to be finished by the year's end, while the new investment cycle should start next year.
Milan Slavinski says that the construction of accommodation capacities intended for youth tourism and excursions may commence next year.
To Golubac by ship

In order to make the tourist offer of Silver Lake even more attractive, the company Silver Lake Investment has included a big tourist ship, Silver Star, in its offer. The ship is big enough for 380 passengers, it has two balconies and indoor parlors.
As Mr. Slavinski explains for our web portal, the ship will be transporting passengers to Golubac and Ramska fortress during the summer season. After that, it will be stationed in Belgrade where it will cruise the Sava and the Danube. In addition, it will also serve commercial purposes.
Why is Silver Lake "silver"?
Silver Lake is situated in the northeast part of Serbia, in the vicinity of the confluence of the Pek and Danube rivers. It belongs to the municipality of Veliko Gradiste. In order to protect the coastal area from subterranean waters, an embankment was built in 1971 in the upper reach of the Danube river, near the village of Zlatonja. That is how the lake was created - 14 kilometers long, 300 meters wide, and up to 13 meters deep.

In the afternoon hours, when the sun descends behind the Carpathians, millions of sparkles produce a silver glow on the lake surface, which is why it is named Silver Lake. Ever since it was created, it has always been a favorite picnic grounds and the fundamental element of tourism in this area, which is why it is also called the Serbian sea.
