
The biggest Austrian airline company Austrian Airlines yesterday introduced flights from Vienna to Baghdad again, and by doing that, it became the first Western European company which has flights to the capital of Iraq.
Arbil is its second destination.
The flight from Vienna to Baghdad, Austrian Airlines have already had in its program of flights in 1982. However, it canceled it because of the crisis with Kuwait in 1990.
The flights Vienna-Baghdad-Vienna are in progress three times a week, says the company.
Austrian Airlines is a pioneer on the Near East. It has been the first Western European company to fly in the northern Iraq, already in 2006. In the summer this year, there will be six flights a week to Arbil.
The flight with Austrian Airlines starts comfortably and with the modern possibilities of check-in on the Internet and mobile phone, the passengers can print the flight map themselves.
The passengers in the plane will be welcomed by charming stewardesses, and offered with typical Austrian food of a renowned partner of Austrian Airlines over many years, "DO&CO".
