The US company “John Deere” wouldn’t be participating in the tender for the sale of the Engine and Tractor Industry (IMT), the manager of Belgrade’s office of Novi Sad’s company “Res trade”, the general representative of “John Deere” for SCG, Goran Dodić, stated.
The tender for the privatization of the leading domestic tractor manufacturer was announced at the beginning of this year.
“Although ‘John Deere’ does not intend to become the owner of IMT, we will continue our partnership on the manufacturing of tractors 20-50 and 20-90”, Todić said.
According to the contract signed by "Res trade", "John Deere" and IMT, this-year plan is that 200 tractors 20-50 be assembled and equipped with the 50 horse-power "John Deere’s" engine.
It is expected that the ‘zero series’ of tractors 20-90 with 90 horse-powers with engines `DIR 2`, which meet the strictest ecological conditions, be designed prior to April. These tractors are designed according to the `John Deer` standards, which should be confirmed by the appropriate certificate issued by this manufacturer.
Further partnership between IMT, “Res trade” and “John Deere” will depend, according to Todić, on the interest of the future owner of Belgrade’s tractor industry, as well as the US partner.
