The municipality of Kanjiza gas bought the complex of military barracks in Kanjiza and it will now assume the use of about five acres of land and buildings around the area of 9000 square meters, which intends to offer to investors for trade. Yesterday, at the press conference in Kanjiza Municipality, President of Kanjiza municipality, Mihalj Njilas and representative of the Ministry of Defence of Serbia, Colonel Alexander Ilic, on the occasion of handing over the barracks, pointed out that thus ended a very long process.
This complex once belonged to a construction company GIK "Buducnost" and then it was bought by the Yugoslav National Army of the former Yugoslavia, when the company went bankrupt. Kanjiza municipality commissioned a bank loan of 80 million dinars for the purchase of the complex, but as it was announced by Mayor Njilas, they will undertake parceling of the complex, which will be offered in the spring to four or five investors.
He said that the current municipal government mapped to put the complex barracks again into economic function, which could only be achieved by the municipality's purchase of the complex.
- The situation in the event of such work was done very quickly, given that this business engaged Directorate for Property of the Republic of Serbia and that the decision should have been made by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. I hope that our goals will be achieved, primarily to take the complex back to the economic function and to hire more people. It is necessary to do this as quickly as possible, in order to repay the purchase loan as quickly as it takes, - said Njilas.
