Prime Minister of Vojvodina Dr. Bojan Pajtic visited yesterday the location of future aqua-park Vodeni Svet
in the municipality of Backi Petrovac. Construction of the aqua-park is so far the biggest investment by the Republic of Slovakia, and total value of the project is 22 million euros.
The investor is Slovakian Aqua Therm Invest, which already has two such complexes in this country and they represent a blend of sports, sport recreation, resting and hotel and catering contents that are attractive to tourists.
- The aqua-park in Backi Petrovac will not be significant only because it is a very important and valuable investment, the biggest Slovakian investment in Vojvodina to date, or because of the fact that it will employ hundred workers, as well as numerous caterers and other employees for accompanying activities, but also due to the fact that part of the our own tourism potentials will be realized in the best way with the construction of a contemporary aqua-park - said Pajtic.
As he explained, it is a complex that will attract numerous guests, not only from our country, but also from neighboring countries.
- The Provincial Government will also help realization of the project, primarily through support for realization of the investment, as well as through the programme of support in creation of new jobs - said Pajtic.
The location of the future aqua-park is outside the town, on the road from Backi Petrovac to Novi Sad, which is only 18 km away from the location, and the first phase of construction should be finished already in spring 2011.
In addition to an Olympic pool and smaller swimming pools, one of which will be with salty water, fun and other contents, the park on about 20 ha will also comprise a hotel, as well as other necessary tourist and catering facilities.
