If everything goes as planned by the city authorities, Kragujevac-based Sumadija Sajam (Sumadija Fair) will get a new exhibition hall next year.
Namely, the City of Kragujevac, the founder of city fairgrounds Sumadija Sajam Ltd., has recently entered the open competition for allotment of a non-refundable aid from the Non-refundable aid fund of the European Union's RDEPR 2 programme, of which aim is financing of regional social-economic development programme of Serbia.
- That is the second tranche of such aid and the deadline for applications was September 10. The City of Kragujevac submitted all the required documentation on time and we hope to get a donation of about 1 million euros for the second hall – Sanja Stamenkovic Rasevic from Sumadija Sajam told eKapija and added that the results of the competition would be known in December.

The new hall will comprise an exhibition area at 1,500 square meters, while the size of additional areas intended for accompanying contents will be determined after a more detailed project is finished.
Elaboration of the main project for construction of the hall is entrusted to Belgrade-based Quarta. The value of the contract signed in August 2010 is RSD 2,894,500 (exclusive of VAT).

As we were told, if the planned funds are granted, construction of the hall should start in the first months of 2011. In that way, the 2011 Sumadija Agriculture Fair could receive visitors in the new hall.
- We hope that the new hall will be opened in summer 2011 at the latest – says eKapija's interlocutor and reminds it is only the second phase of construction of fairgrounds in Kragujevac, and that the third, last phase includes construction of another hall.
