- The citizens who have acquired the right to free shares will soon receive the shares of Belgrade-based Nikola Tesla Airport - Boris Majstorovic, the Director of the Privatization Support Center of the Privatization Agency, announced.
- Free shares of Telekom Srbija should also be distributed by the end of the year, while the shares of the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) are expected in 2011 - said Majstorovic in the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, at the round table on free shares.
He pointed out that it had been estimated that there would be more orders for sale of free shares of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) and that 10% of citizens had given orders for sale of those securities to date.
The free shares of NIS have been distributed to 4.8m citizens of Serbia, and their sale started on August 30th. About million shares are offered for sale, while only 8,000 have been in demand.
- Due to low demand, the price of shares of NIS has dropped from initial RSD 505 per share by 6.5% - said Miroljub Ristic, the Head Analyst of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, and added that the owners of free shares of NIS daily issued orders for sale of 30,000 shares.
Gazpromneft, the owner of NIS, is obliged to announce a tender offer in February 2011 for takeover of shares from minor shareholders at the price of EUR 4.8 per share. Prior to announcement of that offer, as Ristic estimated, it is hard to expect some bigger demand for the shares of NIS and increase in their price.
Dusan Bajec, a member of the Securities Commission, assessed that the development of financial market in Serbia would be more affected by the distribution of free share of other public companies than it was the case with the share of NIS.
He stated that the new Law on Securities Market, brought in accord with the global standards in the field of trading in securities, should be adopted urgently.
