
Maja Batanjski, the Marketing Manager at Poste Srbije (Postal Company of Serbia), said that the services of sale of the shares of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) would be provided free of charge in about 1,300 post offices in the whole country.
Ms. Batanjski said that the postal company wanted to simplify the procedure and that the citizens would only need to bring valid ID card to a teller window in a post office and sign the contract.
- A worker at the teller window will ask three questions concerning the number of shares that the citizen wants to sell, their minimum price, and valid checking account - said she.
- The citizens will also be able to use free SMS info service or to get information by calling the call center of Poste Srbije or by visiting the websites of the Privatization Agency, the Postal Saving Bank, and Poste Srbije - said Ms. Batanjski.
According to her, it will take five to seven minutes to make a transaction.
- The postal company of Serbia has trained large number of employees for the forthcoming sale of the shares of NIS - said Ms. Batanjski and added that special teller windows would be opened for that purpose.
Total of 4.8m citizens have the right to free shares and they were given five shares of NIS each in early January 2010, with the nominal value of RSD 500.
The Petroleum Industry of Serbia submitted a request to the Belgrade Stock Exchange on August 16 for inclusion of its shares in the prime market.
According to the rules of the Belgrade Stock Exchange on quotation and listing, if the submitted documentation is complete, the Commission has five working days to make the decision on the date of commencement of trading in shares and their price.
Total of 163,060,400 shares of NIS with nominal value of RSD 500 per share or total value of RSD 81.53 billion have been registered with the Central Securities Register.
Russian Gazpromneft is the owner of 51% of shares, that is,
83,160,800 shares, while the Republic of Serbia kept 29.9% of shares in its possession.
Remaining 19.1% of shares are in the hands of former and current employees of NIS, 4.8m citizens of Serbia who got the shares for free, as well as few companies and citizens who acquired the shares at the time when the company was a closed joint-stock company.
Gazpromneft has bought 51% of capital of NIS for EUR 400m, with the obligation to invest 550 million euros in modernization of the company's units.
Russian national company took over the management of NIS in February 2009.
