"Delta Holding" is not for sale and it was never discussed in negotiations, said today (20th, July 2010) Director of Corporate Communications of this Company, Jelena Krstovic.
She told to BETA agency that "all parts" of 'Delta' business system have clear and ambitious development plans, through its own growth and through new acquisitions, which is particularly true for the core business".
Krstovic said it had only been discussed about the sale of up to 50% equity in the retail chain "Delta Maxi".
- The situation in connection with the company "Delta Maxi" has not changed in the last year. As we said earlier, the negotiations with potential strategic partners are held at the moment - she said.
As she pointed out it had been exclusively discussed about the sale of minority package, possibly up to 50% and "Maxi" will remain a national trading chain.
- Joining of strategic partner will enable rapid development of the retail chain Delta Maxi, not only in Serbia but also in other markets in the region - estimated the Director of Corporate Communications of " Delta Holding ", Jelena Krstovic.
"Delta Holding" employs more than 24,000 people. It is composed of the companies engaged in retail, agriculture, food production, foreign trade, representation of foreign companies, distribution and sale of goods, real estate development, financial and insurance services.
"Delta Maxi" is the largest trade chain in Serbia. As stated in the company site www.deltaholding.rs, under "Delta Maxi" group there are about 500 retail food objects on the markets of Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the site, "Delta Maxi" is expecting a revenue of 1.74 billion EUR in this year.
