Construction of the railway section of Stara Pazova - Novi Sad, which will begin in 2011, represents the beginning of the project "Belgrade-Budapest railway of high performance for 200 km / h", it was announced on the website of Stara Pazova Municipality.

After completing the reconstruction of the railway from Batajnica to Golubinci, works will now continue. The project is anticipated to have two tracks of the line, new tracks are first to be build, and then reconstruction of the existing. Project documentation is prepared by the Traffic Intitute CIP.

Conceptual design should be completed by the end of October, and it is a major investment backed by the Serbian government, and in the first phase will be invest 1.1 million euros, while implementation of the project will be helped by the European Union.

This subject was discussed at a meeting with the president of IV Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtic, where in addition to representatives of the transport and traffic institute CIP were also the representatives of "Serbian Railways" as the investor of the project, the Municipal Presidents of Stara Pazova, Indjija, Sremski Karlovci and Novi Sad.

Mayor of Stara Pazova, Goran Jovic, stressed that after completion of the works, it would take a half an hour to get to Novi Sad, and the project will complete reconstruction of the entire line on the territory of the municipality of Stara Pazova
.
According the project, the obligations of the municipalities through which the railroad passes will be reflected in the provision of logistical support to Serbian Railways and Traffic Institute CIP.
