Company Mars, the first investor in the business park of Lafarge BFC in Beocin, will start production of high-precision mechanical parts and metal machining works on the land of 4,000 square meters. The company from Petrovaradin is going to invest about 2.4 million euros in equipping the new unit in the modern complex. About 50 workers will get jobs at start, while total of 100 people will be working in that unit by the end of the second year of work. For that investment, Mars has got a financial guarantee from the Government of Vojvodina that each new job in Beocin-based business park will be co-financed with RSD 130,000.
As it was announced earlier, the whole portfolio of the company from Novi Sad, which operates in Serbia since 1990, will be intended for export.
Gunnar Mitterbauer, the Financial Director of Lafarge BFC, told eKapija that companies had expressed a great interest in investing in Business park Beocin due to numerous advantages provided by the company. Potential investors have at their disposal 20 ha of land on the bank of the Danube, within the complex of Lafarge BFC,
which are directly connected to the port. Lafarge has, so far, invested about 2 million euros in equipment in the park.
- The basic advantages of the Beočin Business Park are: complete infrastructure, maximum support from our service center, and long-time experience of the park owners - companies Lafarge BFC, Asamer and Wietersdorfer. We will provide necessary consulting assistance and administrative and technical services to the future tenants, as well as all other services required for quality operations.
Potential investors are provided with the mobile network coverage, water, electricity, gas, while special convenience is direct access to the Danubian port, which has the status of international port. Also, we have potentials to use alternative source of energy, but we have not implemented any concrete projects yet - Mitterbauer explained.
Opening of a free zone in the Beocin Business Park is also in the pipeline, while the commencement of work will depend on the investors' needs and requirements.
Mitterbauer said that Lafarge BFC had already talked with over 80 investors and added that the primary aim of the park was employment of as many people as possible.

- We find the number of employees more important that the number of investors. We prefer having only one investor who would create 500 jobs to having 10 investors who would employ 5 people each.
We do not get money from investors because this is a non-profitable project. We invested in the land and we do not "chase" the profit. There are many small parcels that can be merged if needed, but let's say that the smallest parcel is about 1,000 square meters big
- said Mitterbauer.
He said that all industries would benefit from the operations in the park and pointed out that construction companies can make their operations even more easier thanks to the vicinity of the cement factory
The Beocin Business Park is a non-profitable and the first corporate social responsibility project launched by Lafarge with the aim of creating conditions to attract new investors and, thus, contribute to production and export growth, reduction of unemployment rate, and overall economic and social development of the municipality of Beocin and the region.
The Business Park project is implemented in a strategic partnership with the municipality of Beocin and with the support of the Serbian Ministry of Economy and Regional Development and the Government of Vojvodina.
The Beocin Business Park is only 20 km away from Novi Sad, 100 km away from Belgrade, 30 km away from the Croatian border, 120 km away from the Hungarian border, and 100 km away from the border with Romania. Investors are currently offered 20 ha of land, but the park also has capacities and ambitions for expansion to another two zones - 27 ha and 35 ha, which are also in the vicinity of the Danube.
