The 15 kW solar power plant of Devič monastery, which is situated near Srbica in Kosovo and Metohia, was put in operation on Saturday (June 12, 2010). This is the first solar power plant in Serbia and the largest "off-grid" (110 batteries of 500 Ah, total of 55,000 Ah) solar power plant in the Balkans - said the people from S.O.K, which drew plans and built that plant in six days.
With this solar system, Devič monastery has become a facility with the largest number of installed solar systems because 2 solar systems have already been installed to heat the water.

The solar power plant of 15 kW occupies 108 square meters of panels, that is, 54 modules of 280 W. Company S.O.K. Ltd. is currently working on the water heating system for Žiča monastery.
