(Jasna Matić)
The Minister of Telecommunications of Serbia, Jasna Matić, estimated today (March 17, 2010) in Belgrade that year 2010 was not bad for privatization of Telekom and that that company could be sold at its real price.
- The main part of the global crisis is over. The telecommunications sector did not suffer that much since it even registered certain growth. Further recovery is expected, so that, having that in mind, this year is not bad for the sale of Telekom Srbije - Ms. Matić said at the Round Table on Electronic Banking and Electronic Trade, which was organized by Econom:east Media Group.
The CEO of PTT Srbija, Goran Ćirić, said to the press that the state should take over 80% of stocks of Telekom Srbije by the end of the year.
PTT is the owner of 80% of Telekom's stocks, but the state owns 100% of PTT, so that the state is the majority owner of Telekom.
Ćirić said that the process of selection of the consultant who would define the mutual ownership-legal relations between PTT and Telekom was underway, which was important in the context of the announced privatization of Telekom.
