
- The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) will start trial production of unleaded gasoline this year and invest 40m EUR in construction and reconstruction of gas stations - the management of NIS Petrol announced today (March 11, 2010).

Šalimov, said at the press conference at the Car Show in Belgrade that the construction of 10 new gas stations and modernization of up to 40 out of total of 474 existing facilities were in the pipeline.
As he explained, the gas stations for reconstruction have been chosen according to their locations and registered sales, and he added that there were as much difficulties in construction of new gas stations as in realization of other investments.
Šalimov said that the production of leaded gasoline in Oil Refiner in Pančevo would be discontinued in 2010 and that the trial production of unleaded gasoline would start.
- The line for production of unleaded gasoline will be installed in Pančevo. The processes of elaboration of the project and selection of partners are currently underway -
Šalimov pointed out and added that he would be able to specify the annual volume of production after the modernization of the unit.
Russian Gazpromneft took over the management of NIS in February 2009, after it paid 400m EUR to the Government of Serbia for 51% of the company's stocks. The plan is that the new owner invests about 550m EUR in modernization of refineries and operations prior to 2012.
