Delta Generali Osiguranje is the new owner of building lot at 29 Oslobođenja Boulevard. The insurance company bought the lot at yesterday's (March 9, 2010) auction in the City Development Institute, as the only bidder, at the starting price of 92,825,480 RSD. The lot in Mitrovačka Street on Telep, which attracted two bidders, was sold the same day at the price of 6.6m RSD, while its starting price was 5,664,594
RSD. Other auctions on the same day were were canceled because there were no interested bidders.
The CEO of Delta Generali Osiguranje's Regional Center Novi Sad, Leonid Babić, said that the price of land was not small, but that the company wanted a representative business building for its own needs.
Construction of a two-floor building in that location, at the lot of 515 square meters, is in the pipeline, and this is the first city building lot that is sold after the World War II when the private ownership of property ceased to exist.
Although there was only one bidder on aforementioned auction, that acquisition was in accordance with the Law on Planning and Construction.
However, judging by the beginning of the sale of city building land and the interest expressed by investors, this will be a gloomy year for the city budget if nothing changes.
The land ZIG expected the most from, the one at 29 Oslobođenja Boulevard, was sold at the starting price, which is lower than the price of 115m EUR that was reached last year, but was not paid by the winner on the auction. This year the City plans to earn about 600m RSD from the land sales.
People in City Development Institute did not want to give any comment on the commencement of the sale of land. They only said that the lots on Sentandrejski Road on Rimski šančevi, in Nova Street that connects Mileve Simić Street and Miroslava Prodanovića Micka Street, and the locations north of Privrednikova Street, between NIT and NIVA, at the corner of Heroja
Pinkija Street and Mornarske Street, and in Radeta Smiljanova Street, would probably be offered for sale again during 2010.
New auction is schedule for March 15th, and it will be determined today which land will be offered for sale.
