Major Austrian real estate developer Eyemaxx is preparing to build Brand Outlet Beograd in the north of Belgrade. This will be the first modern designer outlet center in Serbia. Ground breaking will take place in summer 2010, with a scheduled opening in autumn 2011.
Eyemaxx have acquired a 9 ha. Site is at the first highway exit from Belgrade to Novi Sad – before the first toll gate. The final GLA will be over 20,000 sqm with a first phase of 15,500 sqm, approximately 90 stores and 2,000 parking spaces.
EYEMAXX and FREEPORT have entered into a long term partnership to develop and operate the centre. Freeport has developed 10 centres across Europe and currently operates in Portugal, Czech, Sweden and France.
Iestyn Roberts, CEO of Freeport said: “Freeport is really excited to be working with Eyemaxx on this major new development in Serbia."
 - The fast growing retail scene in Serbia means that there is a real need for brands to be able to clear their surplus stock. We’re sure the Belgrade consumer will enjoy shopping for great bargains amongst the brands they love - said Iestyn Roberts
The project is being designed as a village, with a relaxed, intimate atmosphere for shopping and leisure.
According to some earlier announcements in media, Eyemaxx will invest about 35m EUR in Brand Outlet Beograd, the model for which will be Austrian Parndorf.
