The consortium comprising "Minel Kotlogradnja", "Aktiv Austrija" and "Rudnap Group", led by company "Hitachi Power Europe", signed the contract today (December 3, 2009) with public company "Electric Power Company of Serbia" on reconstruction of DGS coal mills in Steam Power Plant "Nikola Tesla A".

That consortium won on the tender worth 33.7m EUR in tough competition with eminent companies "Alstom Power" and "Babcock Power Service".

Tender for reconstruction of DGS mills in blocks A3, A4, A5 has been announced by public company "Electric Power Company of Serbia".

The experts from "Minel Kotlogradnja", part of "Rudnap" Group and "Hitachi" will be working on technical solution for reconstruction and calculations in the other phases of the project as well, and complete production will be realized in the units of "Minel Kotlogradnja".

The aim of the project is to increase the capacities of DGS mills, improve the quality, that is, fineness of ground coal, and reduce emmission of nitrogen oxides - it is stated in the announcement by "Rudnap" Group.

Reconstruction will, also, enable greater efficiency and reliability of work of the blocks and the systems they are functioning in.

The works should commence in mid-2010 when four mills in block A3 out of total of 16 projected mills will be reconstructed.

In the final phase of the project in 2012, in addition to reconstruction of mills, special ecological blowpipes that reduce the emmission of nitrogen oxides and contribute to protection of environment according to EU standards will be installed.

- It is a big privilege to be a partner to a giant like "Hitachi". The advantage of cooperation lies in adoption of new production technologies, broadening of knowledge and adoption of modern solutions from the field of energy - said Vučko Vuković, the Director General of "Minel".
