
Company "Cisco" announced today (September 10, 2009) that it was developing the solution for digital video connection for cable providers "Serbia Broadband" (SBB) in Serbia and "Telemach" in Slovenia in order to offer rich, interactive media experience to the users of these networks.
- Starting November 2009, the users will be able to access video materials of high resolution (HD), while the whole series of interactive services, such as real-time video "on demand" (VoD), digital video recording (DVR), games, live news, and weather information, will be introduced later - "Cisco" announced.
Since the users are asking for more social, personal and interactive experiences with greater possibility of mobility and control, SBB is developing its network in medianet – IP net of the next generation, which is adapted to the media rich with contents.
By means of "Cisco" medianet
technology, SBB will incorporate information on the media types into the whole infrastructure of its networks. This step will enable greater flexibility and scalability, as well as dynamic adaptation of distribution of contents to all forms of media.
