Insurance company "Grawe osiguranje" launched two new products yesterday (September 9, 2009) - property insurance "10 after 10" and collective insurance from the consequences of accidents caused by fire.
As the CEO of "Grawe", Kristof Cetl,
pointed out, the citizens are offered the possibility to insure their apartments and property with the annual costs of 10 to 70 EUR, while the insured amount ranges between 10,000 and 100,000 EUR. The main characteristic of the package is that the coverage is based on the new purchase value of the property, which means that the citizens will get as much money as they pay for the damaged property, and not as much money as that property was worth at the moment of the damage, when its value is smaller.
Citizens can also insure themselves from death in case of accident or disease, permanent disability or hospital costs, while the companies can insure their office workers for 30 EUR and physical workers for 35 EUR per year, while the workers are paid 10,000 EUR in case of permanent disability, while their families get 5,000 EUR in case of death at work.
In addition to citizens and companies, collective insurance is also intended for amateur sport clubs, kindergartens and schools.
According to Cetl's words, 800,000 accidents happen in Serbia every year, 50,000 people become invalids, while 3,692
persons lose their lives. About 75% of accidents happen at home, while 12% occur during sports activities. According to official statistics, average home budget amounts to 46,000 RSD per month, only 3% of which (15 EUR) are the free funds for payment of insurance.
