The Management of Mining-Smelter Basin (RTB) "Bor"
is negotiating with a Canadian-Australian company about joint investment in opening new mine "Cerovo primarno" within RTB,
which is the investment worth 230m USD.
Previous geological researches showed that about 1m tons of copper, 30 tons of gold and nearly 110 tons of silver can be obtained from "Cerovo primarno". The mine would be exploited over the next 20 years, and the negotiations with the representatives of the Canadian-Australian company on the details of joint investment and distribution of profit are underway.
At the same time, the Management of RTB has hired Riccardo Galas from Chile, who is considered to be one of the world's top geologists,
to design the feasibility study for exploitation of underground ore deposit "Borska reka".
According to the data provided by the Mining and Metallurgy Institute of Serbia, geological reserves of nearly 620m tons of ore have, so far, been found in "Borska reka", which guarantees 50-year exploitation of that ore deposit.
The researches have showed that the exploitation of "Borska reka" would enable production of nearly 4m tons of copper, and the same quantity of that metal has been obtained during century-long mining in Bor! This ore deposit also hides nearly 130 tons of gold and over 1,000 tons of silver.
