Pribojska Banja

The Mileševo eparchy and the municipality of Priboj will start construction of a four-star hotel in the vicinity of St. Nikola monastery from the 12th century in spa resort Pribojska Banja in few months. Construction of a trade center with 10 outlets, large atrium and spacious parking lot next to the hotel is also in the pipeline. As Lazar Rvović, the Mayor of Priboj, explained for eKapija, the whole complex will occupy the area of about 6 ha, and up to 4m EUR will be invested in its construction.

- The hotel will have ground floor and three floors. There will be 150 beds in it. Construction of the trade center commenced about 20 days ago and, according to the project elaborated by "MMG Company", each of 10 outlets will be at 40 square meters – Rvović explains.

St. Nikola monastery is 7 km away from the old town, that is, 5 km away from the new center of Priboj. According to the project that is currently being elaborated by CIP, the existing junction in Pribojska Banja will be relocated because the aim is that the new complex and the monastery be separated from the Rehabilitation Center.

Let us remind that the eparchy allotted the church property at nearly 4 ha in the attractive location in Kaluđersko field, on the right bank of the Lim, in the vicinity of the new bridge in Priboj, to the municipality. In return, the municipality participates in construction of the complex in the yard of St. Nikola monastery. As bishop Filater explained earlier, such agreement has resulted from the fact that the eparchy has no money to finance construction of new lodgings, now hotel, in the location between the current lodgings and Rehabilitation Center in the spa resort.

Another new thing in the municipal tourism offer will be Pribojska Banja-Uvac monastery- Zlatibor road, which will shorten the road between the spa resort and Zlatibor mountain by about 30 km. That project, the dossier for which is being prepared by CIP, is the joint investment of municipalities of Čajetina and Priboj.

- Municipality of Čajetina is financing the works on the road between Zlatibor mountain and Uvac monastery, while Priboj provides funds for the remaining 12 kilometers of road, and we intend to the finish realization of the project this year. Once everything is done, the length of the road between Pribojska Banja and the center of Zlatibor will be 21 km – said eKapija’s collocutor.
