(Božidar Đelić)

The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Božidar Đelić, said today (March 16, 2009) that he expected that the agreement on new arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would be reached by the end of the next week.

- The negotiations commenced today, and the new credit arrangement will concern year 2009 and year 2010 - he said at the round table dedicated to the question of whether Serbia is in recession.

The amount of the loan, as the Deputy Prime Minister specified, is not important. What is important to Serbia is to make a good arrangement in order to improve its credit rating.

Đelić announced that he would travel to Brussels the next week to talk about the amount of funds that would be approved to Serbia from the EU funds.
