Cable operator SBB increased monthly subscription fee for
cable television in Serbia on March 1st by 4.2 – 33.85%, and the
increase in prices has also been announced by other cable television operators.
The new price of cable
TV services of SBB, which is the dominant operator in the market, will amount
to 745 RSD (VAT included) in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Vrbas, Kula, Požarevac, Novi
Pazar, Trstenik, Vrnjačka banja, Arilje, Ivanjica and Kragujevac.
Monthly maintenance will cost 609 RSD in the offices of SBB
in Šabac, Sombor, Užicu, Zrenjanin, Vršac, Kruševac, Bor, Valjevo, Kikinda, Čačak,
Kraljevo, Niš, Pirot and Leskovac.
The Republic Telecommunications Agency (Ratel) has allowed
SBB to increase the price of subscription fee in these cities to 745 RSD on
November 1st, 2009. So far, SBB’s prices have ranged between 455 and
715 RSD.
Operator PTT has informed its users in Belgrade, Novi Sad
and Smederevo that their cable TV costs will be increased to 578 RSD in February.
The prices have also been increased by "Kopernikus", while "Radijus
vektor", "KDS Novi Sad" and "Ikom" have announced the
increase in prices.
These operators should not be allowed to increase the prices because Ratel allows
only the dominant operator in the market to change to price.
According to the new price list that will be put in effect on March 1st,
"Radijus vektor" will be charging between 397 RSD in Babušnica and 742
RSD (VAT included) in Belgrade for the basic package of services. The prices of
services of "KDS Novi Sad" will be increased in March.
"Ikom" now charges 410 RSD for monthly maintenance in Grocka, Vinča
and Vrčina and 500 RSD in Belgrade, and it informed Ratel that it would
increase the prices on April 1st.
