Company "Verano", which already has the developed business network
in Belgrade, plans to start construction of a large park – shopping city alongside
the Ibarska main route in the borough of Čukarica, only 200 meters away from
the newly built part of the bypass, in one year. According to the preliminary
concept, the entire complex will occupy the surface of 100 ha and total of
500,000 square meters will be developed.
Surrounded by two exceptionally important junctions, such as the Ibarska main
route and the bypass, this location has a very good transportation potential,
so that it is suitable for that type of the project.
The complex should have 17 large retail facilities for various purposes.
Although company "Verano" provided major share of funds for the
project, company "Citadel" with its fund "Triumph" and
company "Yu kapital", which is hired by "Verano" to work on
development of the building land, participate in this project as well.
- The shopping city should have an automobile showroom, a multiplex cinema,
outlet stores, restaurants, "cash and carry" hypermarkets, specialized
trade centers for furniture, textile and vast parking space. This project will
be based on similar projects for complexes in Vienna and Ljubljana – people in
company "Yu kapital" explained.

According to the general land-utilization plan, facilities of this type can
be built at this location and, if everything goes as planned, the first works
should commence at the end of the next or at the beginning of year 2010.
- The project is divided into two detailed plans. The first plan will be put
on public display in two months, while the public insight into the second plan
will be made possible in four months. If the Parliament adopts them,
construction works will start in about one year and, in that case, the whole
complex should be finished in 2014. This idea is very close to realization.
However, nothing is definite yet and we are currently in the phase when the
land is being purchased from private owners – people in company "Yu
kapital" explained.
