
City management of Nis reached a decision to enrich touristic offer of this largest city of Southern Serbia, by developing touristic contents around still unknown Cerjanska cave. Directorate for construction of Nis started on that occassion a procedure of choosing the contractor at the very entrance into the cave.
The cave represents a great potential, as it is 6.025 m long, and it is one of the longest explored caves in Serbia. It is located near Cerje village and it is only 15 km away from Nis, within Kamenicki vis area, which is known as a summer resort. The entrance to the cave is next to the beginning of Provalijska river, on 515 m above the sea level.
The cave is protected by the state and it represents a natural good of the 1st category, as it is extremely rich with jewellery spreaded across the whole longitude of the cave. It is an underground world, made of passages and hallways of 15 to 40 m of average height.

It has a hundreds of different morphological and hydrological shapes, forms, colors and sizes of cave jewellery, like crystal flowers specific only for this one location in whole Serbia. One of them, electric hair - found in this cave is a cave jewellery against all the laws of physics and gravitation, as it forms and spreads in all directions within the cave.
