Judging by the announcements, Austrian
company “Magna Schteier" will have a factory for production of car parts built in
Kragujevac. As Veroljub Stevanović, the Mayor of Kragujevac, confirmed on
Tuesday (September 9, 2008), that is an old news and, since the mutual interest exists, it is only
left for both sides to agree on the details.
Commenting on the statement of the Trade Attache of the Embassy of Austria to
Belgrade, Andreas Hajdentaler, that “Magna Schteier" will soon come to Serbia, as
well as market chain “Sharp”, Stevanović says that the companies that want to
invest in production are always welcome.
- We should agree on the details of that cooperation, but production companies have special benefits and they will depend on the number of people they want to hire. There are, currently, two possible locations for construction - the first is in industrial zone "Servis dva" where 6 ha of land are still free, while the second location is in housing complex Cvetojevac where the city has 10 ha of land for investors - says Stevanović and adds that both locations are very attractive since they are situated along Kragujevac - Batočina highway, which is under construction.
