Novi Sad-based company "General-auto" bought 86 ares of land near cloverleaf interchange Orlovača (the crossroads of bypass around Belgrade and the Ibar main road) at the end of August. The company plans to have a modern automobile showroom for “Mazda”
vehicles built on that location prior to the end of year 2010.
- We are currently collecting all necessary permits for building and the contracting process will be finished within next month. After that, we will start realization of the first phase, which will include construction of about 1450 square meters of automobile showroom, as well as construction of storage space for spare parts - Zdravko Jelušić, the CEO of "General Auto", said in the interview for eKapija and explained that the body workshop for tinsmith works would be built at 1,200 square meters in the second phase.
According to the preliminary project of Srđan
Aćin, an architecture from Zrenjanin, and the main project of company “Ardi”, the future automobile showroom will have ground floor and the first floor where offices will be situated.
- Company General Auto, which is the authorized importer, distributor and servicer for “Mazda” vehicles in Serbia, has so-called dealer
identity, which means that there are certain standards (surface of the showroom, servicing capacities...) we must respect during construction and equipping of the future facility - our collocutor explained.
“General auto” set aside about 700,000 EUR for the land in the vicinity of cloverleaf interchange Orlovača, while about 1.5m EUR will be invested in the future automobile showroom.
In addition to the land in the vicinity of cloverleaf interchange Orlovača, “General auto” has also rented a space for cosntruction of automobile showrooms on territories of six municipalities in Vojvodina - Zrenjanin, Kikinda, Subotica,
Vrbas, Sremska Mitrovica and Novi Sad - and the negotiations about purchase of land in Municipality of Sombor are currently in progress.
- “General auto” is, also, the authorized importer, distributor and servicer of company Iveco, and we are authorized by company Delta, which is the general importer of "Fiat" vehicles, for sale and servicing of passenger automobiles of this Italian manufacturer. Our plan is to open automobile showrooms for these Italian manufacturers in six cities of Vojvodina, in association with “Delta”, while Subotica is “reserved” for Mazda.
At the moment, “General auto” has "Mazda" automobile showroom only in Belgrade, in housing project Dušanovac, at 500 square meters.
