"Ball Packaging" invests 25m EUR in production in Serbia

US company for production of tin packaging "Ball Packaging" expands production in Serbia and intends to provide another 25m EUR for that purpose.
"Ball Packaging" will invest that money in procurement of equipment for production of aluminum covers, and people in the company could not specify when the investments will be realized and when the production will start.
- The decision about investment has been made, while the plan and dynamics of investing is to be defined - people from that company explained.
Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Božidar Đelić, said today (June 18, 2008) that one year of negotiations with company for production of tin packaging "Ball Packaging" had finally resulted in the investment that would enable creation of 60 new jobs in Zemun.
- At first, the company will be producing 1.5 billion aluminum covers, 90% of which will be exported and create new 35m EUR worth of export from our country on annual basis - said Đelić after the meeting with the CEO of "Ball
Packaging" for Serbia, Anthony Barnett, in the premises of the Government of Serbia.
"Ball
Packaging" invested 50m EUR in the factory in Zemun, which was one of the largest foreign greenfield investments in Serbia at that time.
