Serbia Broadband (SBB) has recently announced that
Swedish Optical Transmission specialist Transmode
will build its metro and national network updates as part of a multi-year frame
contract. This builds on Transmode’s
recent successes in the region with Magyar Telecom (T-Com) in Hungary, Exatel in Poland,
Self-Servis in Czech
Republic and many others.
The
networks provide SBB with a new platform for existing Cable TV Backhaul
traffic, other internal traffic and additional wholesale capacity demands. Over time these networks will enable
substantial capacity growth to match the increasing demand for these services
as well as provide a platform for additional services in the future.
Predrag
Djurdjevic, SBB’s CTO said “All the technical aspects of Transmode's
offer were more than acceptable to us and our decision was simple. Ease of instalment, scalability and
interoperability, compact dimensions, ultra low power consumption, support for
wide range of client interfaces, flexibility and the level of integration were
the strong points of Transmode.”
Transmode is a rising star in the optical world and is one of the leading
suppliers of metro and regional optical networking solutions. Founded in 2000 in Sweden,
the company has grown rapidly and now has an extensive team across Europe and a large network of Value Added Reseller (VAR)
partners. In particular Transmode has recently signed a VAR agreement with S&T
based in Belgrade. Transmode
was recently recognized by Deloitte as one of Europe’s fastest growing
companies with 26th position in their list of Europe
and The Middle East ‘s Top 500 fastest growing companies.
