In the City Hall in Sremska Mitrovica, the contract has been signed between the municipality and the representative of "General-auto",
a member of "General Group", on rental of 1.88 ha of land in industrial zone Sever, along the highway, where this company intends to have a car repair service shop and automobile showroom built in the first phase, while the second phase includes construction of facilities intended for production of superstructures for vehicles.
The investment in the first phase is worth 2m EUR and about 50 citizens of Mitrovica should get jobs in that phase, as well as another 50 in the second phase.
By the way, "General-auto" is the agent for "Iveco" and for
"Fiat", and the owner of "General Group, Zdravko Jelušić, explained his arrival in the largest city of Srem with the fact that Mitrovica had great prospects in field of industrial building, which means that many vehicles would be needed for transportation of goods and that is why they had chosen that location to have the modern service shop and the unit for future production of transportation vehicles built on it. All this is in accordance with the growing demands for expansion of capacities in Vojvodina, through investments in construction of new retail-service centers.
The coordinator for infrastructural investments in Municipality of Sremska Mitrovica, Branislav Nedimović, said that that was only extension of the investments in Mitrovica's industrial zone, which provided complete infrastructure and additional good conditions for the ivnestors, and the most important thing of all was that the new jobs would be created in that way.
