Ambassador of Japan to Belgrade, Tadashi Nagai, and the Deputy Manager of UNICEF for Serbia, Maria Luisa Fornara, have donated the equipment for storing and transportation of vaccines to the Public Health Institute of Serbia "Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut".

The equipment for maintenance of so-called cold chain in the immunization system has been provided by UNICEF, thanks to the donation from the Government of Japan in amount of 351,000 USD. According to the announcement, the equipment consists of 300 big and 700 hand refrigerators.

The equipment will be sent to all health centers in Serbia because most of these centers do not have appropriate equipment for maintenance of cold chain for immunization or the existing equipment is old.
