  • Be aware that Italians generally prefer to do business with only the most important people in any organization.
  • It's important that you bring a carefully planned. It should be logically organized, aesthetically pleasing and interesting.
  • Hierarchy is the key, especially in larger traditional Italian businesses where the importance of the "cordata" [chain of command] cannot be underestimated.
    Italians speak loudly, animatedly, emotionally, and interruptions are to be expected.
  • Italians tend to be guided by their feelings. Make an effort to ensure that they like and trust you.
  • The Roman Catholic Church remains a strong influence in all areas of life.
  • Final decisions are slow and protracted, usually taking several months to a year. Be patient!
