Dragan Vignjević

Construction of the first section of international long-distance power line of 400kV, from Niš to Macedonian border, will start in October or at the beginning of November and it should be completed in two years. According to the words of Dragan Vignjević, Manager of "Elektromreže Srbije", the investment is worth 27m EUR, and major part of the funds of 21.5m EUR has been provided from the donation of European Agency for Reconstruction.

- This is very importan investment, because it is a redundance for existing long-distance power line that goes through Kosmet. In this way, we will fit into recommendations of EU, because this long-distance power line will eliminate bottlenecks on that section, and we are obliged to enable, through development of electric power market, as large flow of electric energy as possible, that is, access of the third-party sellers of electricity to the grid - Vignjević explained yesterday (June 28, 2007) in Majur, near Jagodina, which he visited on the occasion of celebration of the Day of the company.

According to his words, EMS should start construction of substation "Beograd 20" in Mirijevo in October. The investment is worth between 32 and 33m EUR, and, as Vignjević explained, it will enable better power supply to Belgrade.

Works on rehabilitation of substation "Beograd 8" are underway and, as Vignjević said, the works on rehabilitation of substations "Niš 2" and "Novi Sad 3" should start very soon. Total value of these works is 15-17m EUR.

Vignjević held speech on the grounds of newly built 400-kV substation "Jagodina 4" in Majur, about 2 km to the south from Jagodina, which he characterized as "the most modern unit of our power transfer network, which meets the up-to-date European standards".

- The substation cost 12.1m EUR. Most of the funds have been provided from the credit approved by European Bank for Reconstruction. "Elektromreža Srbije" invested 2.55m EUR from its own funds - said Vignjević and pointed out that that facility would help the energy sector of our country to stay on the leading position in the region of southeast Europe.
