Anatoly Tikhonov, GM of the Russian energy agency of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation was appointed a new president of the Russian Business Council for cooperation with Serbia, it was published at the website of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

Tikhonov pointed out that the Business Council will work on further cooperation development between Russian and Serbian businessman, first of all SMEs, organized business meetings and participation at the international fairs and other events.

October 13, the Trade-industrial Chamber (TIK) of the Russian Federation held a constitutional meeting with new gathering of the Business Council for cooperation with Serbia and then new members of the Council management were appointed. At the meeting of the Business Council, Vice President of the Russian Trade-industrial Chamber, Georgi Petrov, outlined the importance of Serbia as the first country outside the borders of the Independent Countries Community with which Russia signed the Agreement on free trade, implementing it actively

Serbian companies traditionally participate at large fairs of agriculture and food products which are held in Russia.

As Sergey Karaulov, Deputy Head of the Department for cooperation with European and American countries with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, outlined, in seven months 2014, goods exchange between Serbia and Russia increased by 16,5%.

Apart from that, "Russian Railways" (RZD) announced modernization of Serbian railways which is a project totaling USD 970 m, while two Russian companies are organizing delivery of buses and trolleys.

Sberbanka initiated Russian ruble was introduced at the Serbian foreign market so payments of Russian companies to Serbian partners has already been done in rubles.

On its own side, Serbia increased operationally deliveries of food and agriculture product to the Russian market. The deliveries scope, according to preliminary estimations, could total USD 300 m by the end of the year and to increase by 20% more next year, it was added in the announcement.
