GAZPROM: Early speculations on South Stream route change
Preparations for the construction of the Serbian South Stream gas pipeline section are developing as planned and it is early to speculate on any kind of new potential routes, Gazprom said on Thursday, August 21, 2014 to Tanjug.
The Juzni tok do.o. company, as they point out, supervises construction of
Serbian part of the gas pipeline and preparations for construction are running
as planned.
Some Serbian media, quoting the Russian portal Vzgljad, that the South Stream gas pipeline could,
instead through Bulgaria and Serbia, could go through Turkey and Greece, to Italy and Austria if
Bulgaria continues to distract the gas pipeline construction.
When asked whether works halt on the South Stream through Bulgaria could affect delay in the works through Serbia, the Russian company says it is „too early to speak about potential significant delays in construction of such a large and complex project "and repeat that preparations for the construction of Serbian gas pipeline section are running as planned.
