Wilbur L. Ross and OTP in race to take over NKBM

American billionaire Wilbur L. Ross is interested in take-over of the New Credit Bank of Maribor (NKBM). This American investor is famous for its purchases of banks in problem. Its competitors are a Hungarian OTP and currently unknown third entity, reports Ljubljana daily "Dnevnik".

Hungarians are ready to offer EUR 300 million, while Ross, and his fund "WL Ross & Co", offer EUR 200 million. However, those sums are not final.

Potential investors have not done in-depth review of the bank yet, but have received information memorandum with business details of NKBM.

NKBM is an owner of Credy BANK in Kragujevac, Serbia, that took over majority of bank shares in 2010.

Owning EUR 2.6 billion, Ross is the 554.richest man in the world, according to "Forbs".
