Japan donates EUR 1.43 million to Serbia

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic and Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Masafumi Kuroki signed Wednesday documents regarding the donation of EUR 1.43 million to Serbia by the Japanese government, it was announced on the website of the Government.

Mrkic pointed out on that occasion that that donation from the Japanese government would enable Serbia to purchase the equipment based on Japanese technology to use it to boost capacity and efficiency in various sectors: medicine, prevention of natural disasters, environmental protection, and professional training.

The minister expressed hope that the donation would additionally improve friendly relations between the two countries, reminding that Japan had so far provided in excess of EUR 460 million in aid to Serbia since 1999.
